Over the last decade the first look photo has become a common item on the shot list of many Whistler wedding photographers. The first look is right for some people and not so right for others. With that in mind, I’ve reached out to some of my favourite Whistler wedding photographers to get their feedback on the first look. They each shared a few photos and here’s what they had to say. Enjoy!
Choosing to elope in Whistler is a fantastic option for those looking to celebrate their love story in one of the most beautiful places on the planet with just themselves or a handful of close friends or family. More and more couples are making the decision to elope in Whistler because the views in Whistler are unparalleled, the Canadian vs. American dollar makes it ideal for our friends south of the border, and the local wedding industry is world-class. But before giving you my list of ten reasons to elope in Whistler, let’s talk about why you should elope.

As a Squamish wedding officiant, I am always amazed by the beauty and grander of the geography surrounding Squamish BC. With the jaw-dropping backdrop of British Columbia’s Coast Mountains hemmed in by Pacific Ocean sunsets, cascading rivers, and giant old-growth forests, Squamish weddings are spectacular.

Always dress for the weather! Dressed too warmly for summer or not warm enough for winter all influence the enjoyment factor of the wedding day. As you are thinking about what to wear, keep in mind that delicate balance between fashion + function!
- Spring is when outdoor weddings really take off!
- Summer is warm but not too hot.
- Autumn can be cool & wet with beauty sprinkled in-between.
- Winter is like getting married in a snow globe!
Writing your wedding vows is not terribly complicated but it does take some thoughtful planning. To craft a really beautiful vow, follow this three-part structure: Begin with "I Remember" before moving into "This is How I Love You," and finish with "These Are My Promises to You." Simple, right? You got this.
